february wedding inspiration

With Perth having sweltered through a heat wave  last week I thought it would be quite fitting to base this month’s wedding inspiration the theme of a Cool Blue Beach Wedding.

Think calming and cooling blue hues, crisp white flowers in blue mason jars and a flowing white dress with a “something blue” sash.

Blue can be combined with so many colours to achieve different effects.  For this inspiration board I’ve stuck mainly to blue and white then added in some green touches.  I think you will agree that we can discount the old adage “blue and green should never be seen”!

There are so many great reception venues in Western Australia that are close to the beach and so many beautiful beaches to choose from when it comes to having a ceremony on the sand.  If you love the beach but the idea of having all your guests walk through the sand and stand in the hot sun doesn’t appeal there are also plenty of paved or grassed shaded areas around which still offer ocean views and a sea breeze.

This theme could also easily be transferred to a riverside setting which there are also plenty of in Perth – a great option if you want the water views but without the sand or wind.

I’d love to hear about your beach wedding ideas or your own beach wedding – leave a comment below!

  1. I love this theme and your inspiration board as you have captured the colours and romance of the sea instead of being overly “beachy”. The idea of a coastal wedding is something I’ve always loved, not necessarily an idyllic sandy beach but some rugged coastline with the ocean reaching to the horizon (maybe that’s the nautical history in my family talking!). Love it Kristy 🙂
